The Société Tunisienne de Garantie (SOTUGAR) is co-organizing, with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) and the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) with the support of GIZ (German Agency for International Development Cooperation), the Autumn Academy 2023 of the Euro-Mediterranean Guarantee Network (EMGN). This event will take place from 26 to 27 October 2023 at the Mövenpick Hotel Du Lac in Tunis.

“CREDIT GUARANTEE SCHEMES’ STRATEGY AND REGULATION
The Academy of the Euro-Mediterranean Guarantee Network (EMGN) will bring together more than 30 participants from guarantee institutions and Schemes in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Algeria, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Palestine and Tunisia.
Three issues will be at the centre of the debate: strategic, legal, regulatory and supervisory issues, financing, the extension the range of products offered by guarantee institutions and schemes, operational capacity and improving productivity of guarantee institutions and schemes
The sessions are run face-to-face and via the web by operators active in the guarantee industry and experts in the field of financing support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSEs) from France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Greece, Lithuania, Turkey and Korea.
The Euro-Mediterranean Guarantee Network (EMGN) was launched in 2014 following several meetings during 2011 – 2013 at the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean in Barcelona (Spain).
In June 2022, the EMGN was granted the UfM Label .The label to facilitate access to finance, particularly for MSMEs, through training, research and development, advocacy, communication and knowledge sharing. The decision to award the UfM label was taken at the meeting of the member states of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) held on 16 June 2022.
